20 May 2009 : JOSH PYKE WHITE ALBUM TOUR
Few records resonate through the years like The White Album. The Beatles’ influential masterpiece is now a 40-year-old legend. Chris Cheney of the Living End, Phil Jamieson of Grinspoon, Tim Rogers of You Am I and Josh Pyke will take to the stage this August in four very special Concerts in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. They will perform the 29 White Album songs with an all-star line-up of Australia’s best musicians.
Released in late 1968 after the Beatles returned from India, but before their breakup the double White Album was immediately hailed as one of the greatest, most powerful albums ever made. This major work bursts with variety, creativity, experimentation and the genius of The Beatles during one of their most intense and fertile periods. It is a timeless album, yet very much of its time.
Congratulations Josh!
